Tan Son Nhat Airport, formerly known as Saigon Airport, is around 7km (4 miles) northwest of Ho Chi Minh city center. It is the main gateway to southern Vietnam, very impressive, bright, clean and pleasant to use.

You may take several means at the airport to get in town. Regular local buses (number 152) are dirt cheap (around VND3000/ US$0.2).
