Mekong Airlines - Third private airline to become operational by 2010

The government on October 22 agreed to grant a business license to Mekong Airlines, which is expected to become operational by 2010 with a fleet of more than 10 Bombadier, Embraer and ATR72 aircraft.

The Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Transport to grant the license to the airline under the regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) and the government decree No 76/2007/ND-CP and directed the concerned agencies to obey the current regulations.

Earlier, the CAVV finished checking the application for the establishment of Mekong Airlines, which has chartered capital of VND200billion.

Mekong Airlines is the third private airline, which has received a license to operate in Vietnam, after Vietjet Air and Speed up (or Indochina Airlines)
