Tropical storm weakens, dry and cold weather in northern region

In the next two days, the tropical low pressure system will travel south and south-west at a speed of about 15km per hour and weaken into a depression, according to the National Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Centre.

It is forecast that the temperature is likely to fall to 17-18 degrees Celsius in many areas of the northern region, even to 5 degrees Celsius in the Sin Ho plateau in north-western Lai Chau province. Hanoi weather will stand at about 19 degree Celsius. The weather will be dry and sunny at noon, with temperatures rising in the early afternoon.

At 1am on November 10, the centre of the tropical low pressure system was about 400km east of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos. The wind force near the tropical centre of the low pressure system was packing at a speed of 30-61km per hour and would affect the northern region and cause rough seas and stronger winds gusting at category 8 or 9.
